Union vs. TFA
Full Disclosure: I am our site's union rep, and I skipped my second consecutive meeting to fulfill my role as athletic director.
Apparently TFA teachers are arrogant, elitist, and do not participate in union activities. Probably correct on all counts, but again, how many 1st and 2nd year teachers are tremendously active in their unions?

by the way, the floating sidebar thing (whatever it is called) might be due to a really long link in a past entry. if you change the font size of the link, it might solve the problem.. i think.. perhaps... i am not a crook..
I didn't realize I was quite so controversial . . .
Hi, you have a great blog here! I'm definitely going to bookmark you!
First and Second year teachers SHOULD not be too active in their teachers union, especially if there is a job action or something like that going on. Here in California, a school district needs no explaination for 'firing' a non-tenured teacher, and with many of the administrators we have in schools today, many would 'fire' their non-tenured teachers for such union participation.
