We're (not) Going Streaking!

We're not going streaking to the quad!
We're not going steaking through the center of campus!

As of 4:30 PST, my 23-game losing streak in middle school boys and girls basketball came to an end.

Decent defense, a good press, okay passing, agressive play, and the balls finally bouncing our way a little bit, and we are no longer winless, I no longer have this 23-ton albatross hanging around my neck. We're not going steaking! We won the battle of the winless teams, won it easily, and with one game left, it is possible to finish in fourth place. That is better than last place and justification for the hard work the kids put it, their willingness to see it through, even in the face of the three kids who quit in the last two weeks.

The 8th graders won a literal nail-biter by two to clinch a playoff spot. We rule.

YEA!!

There isn't much better than a win after a long time, especially if the win happens because the kids play better than they did before.

Our JV team beat the big -- more expensive -- private school up the road!! How do these kids with no muscles do it??

No muscles! Yes!

This I've never understood. How does the school that is 4.6 miles away always field 7-8 graders that look like young men, while our 7-8 graders always look like boys? I don't get it.
